Game Play
In Emerald Tale you are a cute hairy critter and wander through rural areas, snow-covered mountains and even other planets - in order to rescue your beloved princess from the claws of a ferocious dragon.

You have to slide blocks around on a grid to reach the exit of each game level. That is actually easy. But your path to the magical portal is blocked by rocks, trees and runes. You have to pair up the runes so that at least three of the same colored ones are touching, causing them to disappear. In some levels you need to reach additional runes. In other levels you need to destroy rock and rubble beside your path.

If you move a rune without making a 3-in-a-row match, more runes will pop up, and block your path even further.

Game Score
You can pick up treasures and collectible gemstones to fill up magical tablets. You will find coins to pay for access to new locations, and many other bonuses. You can also talk to other critters, who will tell you secrets about hidden gems, or alternate portals to exit the level.

Power-ups, obstacles and special runes also add to the fun, such as lock-and-key scenarios, bombs and dynamite that can level a section for you and crystallized runes that need to be broken free before paired up.
